Michael D. Ashford was an Ohio House member from January, 2011 to December, 2018 who was recognized as a strong voice for his constituents in the 44th District in Toledo and Lucas County.
Ashford is currently the Director of Development and Program Initiatives for Pathway, Inc. in Toledo, an organization dedicated to alleviating the hardships of poverty and helping those in need develop the skills and tools necessary to thrive independently.
Prior to serving in the Ohio General Assembly, Ashford served on the Toledo City Council rising to Council President. During his tenure on council, he focused on public safety, improving street lighting, addressing the aging infrastructure in the city, providing clean drinking water to the community and protecting Lake Erie.
Ashford has also worked with the YMCA of Greater Toledo and the Boys and Girls Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
He has an M.A. in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University and a B.A. in Sociology from the U. of Nebraska.
