As 2023 comes to a close, we at the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation want to take a moment to reflect on the journey of 2023. The year has been filled with challenges and opportunities, but through it all, the commitment to empowering and uplifting Black communities in Ohio has remained steadfast. I reflect on a year of significant progress and transition at the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation (OLBCF). Stepping into the role of President and CEO in November has been an honor, and I am excited to lead us into a promising future.
This year, we bid a fond farewell to Barbara Sykes, our outgoing President and CEO. Her leadership has been a beacon, guiding OLBCF to new heights. Her legacy is one of dedication and impact, shaping our mission and vision.
We deepened our community connections through:
These engagements have been invaluable in understanding and addressing the needs of our communities.

It has enabled us to face challenges with confidence and turned them into opportunities for our community. We extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of our sponsors and supporters.
As we approach the 30th anniversary of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation in 2024, we stand at the forefront of a transformative era. In my new role as President and CEO, I am thrilled to steer us towards a horizon brimming with innovation and impactful advocacy.
We encourage you to stay connected with us through our social media channels. Your thoughts, feedback, and participation are what will drive us forward.

As we conclude this year, my heartfelt thanks to Derrick Clay, our Board Chair, and Steve Tugend, our Corporate Roundtable Chair. Derrick, your visionary leadership, and Steve, your exceptional skill in building corporate partnerships, have both been key to our achievements.
Looking forward to 2024, I am energized by what we will accomplish together through your continued commitment and dedication to the work of OLBCF.
Thank you for being a part of our OLBCF family.
