Celebrating 2024 and Looking Ahead to 2025
Empowering Black Ohioans, Driving Equitable Change
A Message From President Davis and Derick Clay
Dear Friends, Partners, and Supporters,
While we have had a few challenges in redeveloping and shifting the focus of OLBCF as we enter 2025, we proudly reflect on the impactful work accomplished in 2024. Guided by our Strategic Plan, OLBCF made measurable progress in empowering Black Ohioans by advancing our five key objectives:

-
Organizational Capacity and Sustainability
-
Expanding Reach and Influence
-
Thought Leadership and Research
-
Advocacy and Policy Recommendations
-
Community Engagement and Empowerment
From securing historic grant funding to hosting our 30-Year Juneteenth Celebration, holding our first Board Retreat, and growing the Roundtable Forum, 2024 laid a strong foundation for our future.
We are excited for the opportunities ahead in 2025, including the launch of our new rebranding, expanded advocacy efforts, and strengthened statewide and national partnerships.

Thank you for your support—we look forward to building a stronger, more equitable Ohio together.
Yours In Service,

2024 Top 6 Highlights
In 2024, the Ohio Black Legislative Caucus Foundation (OLBCF) achieved significant milestones, advancing advocacy, expanding influence, and strengthening partnerships. From launching strategic initiatives and securing major funding to hosting impactful events and elevating thought leadership, these accomplishments reflect OLBCF’s unwavering commitment to empowering Black Ohioans and driving meaningful change statewide and beyond.
What’s Ahead in 2025
In 2025, OLBCF will launch a bold rebrand and lead initiatives addressing key issues like policy priorities, maternal health, and economic empowerment. We’ll expand our Roundtable Forum, advance the State of Black Ohio Report, and strengthen national partnerships, reinforcing our commitment to equity and progress statewide and beyond.
Rest, Restore, and Reimagine
To prepare for the work ahead, OLBCF observed our annual end-of-year sabbatical from December 20, 2024, through January 6, 2025. This time allowed us to rest, restore, and reimagine ways to better serve Black Ohioans in the coming year.
We are energized and ready to lead boldly in 2025!
Closing:
On behalf of the board and OLBCF staff we thank you for standing with us. We will continue to empower, advocate, and build a brighter, more equitable Ohio in 2025!
